Creating Custom SQL Based Sage CRM SalesLogix Groups for SalesLogix Territory Realignment
I manage our internal installation of Sage SalesLogix CRM (we still use SalesLogix for Sales and Marketing; we currently use Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Service and Support. We are in the process of migrating all of our xRM activity to Dynamics CRM as our single xRM solution). One of the things I’m frequently asked to do is re-align accounts and contacts from one rep. to another. Reasons vary for this, but most frequently it’s to accommodate some sort of ad hoc marketing activity.
This week, our New York office asked me to re-align the contacts in an Ad Hoc contact group from one Account Manager to another so they can start a targeted call down on a manually generated (Ad Hoc) list (Group). They enlisted my help after trying to update just under 600 records manually. This is not a huge amount in the context of our SalesLogix system, but it’s a huge manual tast. Thankfully, SalesLogix has a pretty nice utility in the Administrator Tool to accomplish this. (See attachment)
