How to Personalize Business Insights Explore in MAS 500 v7.2

We get a lot of request on how to modify Business Insights Explore.  Now you can with version 7.2.  You first need to add the Maintain Business Insights Views / Context Menu task to the navigation pane.  Below are instructions on how to do this.

For our example, we will add this task to the System Manager – Maintenance folder. Navigate to the maintenance folder and right-click.  Select Create New Task and MAS 500 Task (see sample below).

The following task will open. Fill in this window as displayed below and select OK.

Now you have successfully added a new task (see sample below).

In the Business Insights View, you will select the view you wish to modify (for this example we have selected GL Transactions). Select the Navigation Tasks tab. Select Manage. Select the Insert Line  button to add a new line. Select a task you wish to add (for this example we have selected Process GL Journal Transactions). Select the Finish  button and close  the task.

Open the modified Explore view and you should see the new task added.

This is one of many things you can do with the tool. I hope this article gives you an insight on how you can now make Explore a more powerful tool.
