NexTec solutions for Sage X3 are enhanced with 2026 R2 product release

NexTec Group recently released new versions of its solutions for Sage X3, including FoodBusiness ERP, CannaBusiness ERP, and Advanced Solutions products, powered by Sage X3. In this article, Jeff Law, Director of Product Management and R&D at NexTec walks through the highlights in the latest 2026 R2 product releases. Key updates include one-step stock conversion with new expiration dates, expanded lot attributes, tighter links between recalls and non-conformances, a standalone accrual process for sales programs, and refinements to catch weight pricing.

Simplified Stock Conversion

Converting a product from one form to another, such as fresh to frozen, often means the new product needs a different expiration date. The 2026 R2 release adds a new option to enter the destination product’s expiration date manually or have the system calculate it automatically:

  • One-step conversion: Move from one product to another with a new expiration date in a single step.
  • Full traceability: Lot history is maintained from source to destination product.
  • Available across solutions: Stock conversion offers different capabilities in each NexTec industry solution, but this enhancement applies to FoodBusiness ERP, CannaBusiness ERP, and Advanced Solutions for Sage X3

Expanded Lot Attributes

Lot attributes make ancillary lot data visible at key points in your inventory and distribution processes. With 2026 R2, NexTec products now allow:

  • More attributes: The maximum number of lot attributes has increased from 9 to 30.
  • Collection point choice: Attribute configuration determines if captured via Quality or during receipt
  • Lot complement: Attribute values defined with receipt as the collection point can now be entered during the lot complement process, including purchase, intersite, production, and subcontracting.

Reference data that isn’t quality-critical can be captured right at receipt, without a detour through quality.

Connected Quality Management

2026 R2 brings product recalls, non-conformances, and traceability closer together, so quality teams can move from investigation to action more quickly with fewer steps.

Product Recall

  • Better documentation: The Description field is now mandatory when creating a recall.
  • Linked investigations: A recall can now be linked to a non-conformance investigation.

Non-Conformance

  • Create recalls directly: Start a product recall from within a non-conformance.
  • Link to existing recalls: Connect a non-conformance to a recall that’s already underway.

Delivered Lots Inquiry

  • Multi-source recalls: When using the Backwards traceability option, you can now select multiple sources when creating a product recall.

Sample Management

  • Broader sample creation: Test and retain samples can now be created for products with a status of “In development” or “In shortage.”
  • Sample traceability: Traceability has been added to sample inventory for enhanced reporting.

Streamlined Sales Program Accruals

Accrual calculation and posting have moved out of the invoice posting process and into a new standalone function. You can run it manually or schedule it as a batch job, with a nightly run recommended. Separating accruals from invoicing keeps invoice posting lean and gives you more control over when accruals are processed.

This change applies to:

  • Rebates
  • Royalties
  • Sales commissions

Catch Weight Refinements

For businesses selling variable-weight products, 2026 R2 gives you more precise control over pricing and product changes:

  • Purchase price rounding: The PURRND parameter is now applied when calculating purchase prices.
  • Sales price rounding: The SALRND parameter is now applied when calculating sales pricing.
  • Unit price control: A new parameter, XX4VKPOSPR, lets you bypass recalculation of the unit price during the receipt and invoice process.
  • Stock conversion dates: The Stock conversion function now lets users recalculate expiration and use-by dates to support a change in product or form.

Summing Up

With a focus on flexibility and control across inventory, quality, and financial processes, these enhancements to the NexTec Sage X3 product family remove friction and reduce time for everyday processes. Converting products, capturing lot data, managing recalls, and processing accruals have all been optimized. Each enhancement reflects real-world feedback from customers, giving you more flexibility to run your operation your way.
