Let’s explore what is behind the ranking and where you can derive value from Sage X3. One area highlighted by ISG is ‘product experience’. Representing 80% of their overall assessment methodology, Sage X3 is designated as a Product Experience leader, placing it in the top three providers. This ranking underscores Sage X3’s depth of out-of-the-box, manufacturing-specific features; as well as its track record enhancing the entire product lifecycle: onboarding, configuration, operations, usage, and maintenance.
ISG assigns 35% of the Product Experience weight to Capability and 45% to Platform, reflecting how critical a resilient, adaptable architecture is for today’s manufacturers. Sage X3 performs strongly across both dimensions. It is particularly effective in the Platform portion of the evaluation, where ISG highlights its strengths in protecting customer privacy and meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
ISG evaluated 35 functional points within Capability and Platform. Across these, Sage X3 consistently shows enterprise-grade performance relative to its peers. Its combination of robust architecture, regulatory features and configurable functional depth is central to its placement among the top three leaders.
One compelling insight from ISG’s Product Experience framework is that midsize manufacturers increasingly require ERP solutions that are comprehensive yet manageable. ISG observes that Sage X3 delivers broad functional maturity across planning, shop-floor management, supply chain, and multisite operations. This breadth positions Sage X3 as a top-tier system capable of supporting diverse and growing manufacturers.
ISG also notes opportunities for Sage X3 to further expand advanced manufacturing capabilities – such as IoT, robotics, and machine learning. So, it’s good news that since the version reviewed by ISG, Sage has released a new version of Sage X3 that introduces Sage Copilot and Intelligent Agents, embedding AI assistance directly into workflows. In fact, these AI capabilities enhance several of the very areas ISG identified for future improvement. This makes Sage X3’s Product Experience more competitive than ever.
